Gettysburg Civil War art you don’t have to hang on the wall.
Unique, historically accurate, beautiful, functional, versatile, warm – all of these words describe this high-quality, woven 100% cotton Throw made in the USA. Capturing all of the details of my original Gettysburg Civil War quilt and enhanced by the addition of a dramatic chevron border and Civil War flag panels, these tapestry Throws are generously sized at 50” x 60”, fringed on all 4 sides and are machine or hand washable.
Gettysburg Battlefield Map and Guide Booklet set the stage for the battle and provide highlights of key events.
To complement the cotton Throw, with your purchase you’ll also receive my well-researched companion Battle Guide Booklet that includes a discussion of events leading up to the battle of Gettysburg, a detailed, chronological overview of key engagements, and a separate map of the Gettysburg battlefield. The map is a black and white print of my original Gettysburg Civil War quilt with individual battlefield locations numbered to correspond with the areas and battle venues listed on it. These are cross-referenced in the Battle Guide to provide a visual context for the descriptive narrative.

What the Civil War flags and insignia mean.
The flags depicted at the top and bottom of the cotton Throw are those actually used at the time by the commanding generals (George G. Meade for the Union and Robert E. Lee for the Confederacy) as their headquarters flags. The ends of each flag are tattered to convey the desperate, intense fighting that took place at Gettysburg on July 1-3, 1863. The chevron motif in the border replicates the insignia on the enlisted man’s uniform, thus representing the rank and file of each army.
Cleaning instructions for the 100% cotton Throw are provided. The Throw and Battle Guide will be shipped boxed via priority mail with delivery confirmation. A donation will be made to the Civil War Preservation Trust of 10% of the sale price.

About Nancy Chadwick
Although I’ve experimented with other art media, such as pencil, pastel, graphite, and paint, fabric is the most challenging and interesting because of the infinite variety of texture, pattern and color. Each fabric has its own personality and character, and I use fabric in different ways – e.g., as a substrate for printing, a “canvas” for embellishment by paint, pencil and other media, or a vehicle for creating original and digital designs. Originals and reproductions of my work are in private collections and have been displayed in national exhibitions and such public venues as the Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain House and the Baseball Hall of Fame. |
